Arizona State University isn’t just entering a new era with its move to the Big 12. The fan experience for Sun Devil Football games this fall will be new and improved, as well.

Research: Sports venues can be hotter than weather apps show

New research that studied the temperature of athletic venues at ASU found that on-field measurements were higher than the temperatures posted by the weather stations. Floris Wardenaar, an assistant professor in the College of Health Solutions, says it's important for people to be mindful about the temperature difference and become acclimated to the heat.

Title IX at 50: Sun Devils level up for access, equity in academics, athletics

Fifty years ago, Title IX was signed into a law to remove many of the barriers that prevented people, on the basis of sex, from participating in educational programs that rely on federal assistance. Here's a look at some of the work ASU has been doing to raise awareness about the rights to equity in academics and athletics.

ASU Senior Associate Athletic Director Mark Brand on Thursday announced he is retiring, effective July 12, after 39 years on the job.

Sun Devil Athletics first in Pac-12 with all-time best APR

As announced by the NCAA Tuesday, Arizona State University recorded a multiyear Academic Progress Rate average of 995 over a four-year period (2017–18 to 2020–21), which is an all-time ASU high and first in the Pac-12, the first time ever leading the conference.

ASU course addresses 'female opportunity gaps' in sports participation

ASU's Applied Coaching Communication class aims to address opportunity gaps among low-income, elementary school girls by empowering them through non-competitive sports. This semester they worked with students from Holdeman Elementary School, which has a minority student enrollment of 94%. “We’re here to help them learn about their own life skills,” said ASU student Samantha Rivera.
