New, enhanced fan experience awaiting Sun Devil Football fans

Arizona State University isn’t just entering a new era with its move to the Big 12. The fan experience for Sun Devil Football games this fall will be new and improved, as well.

Pandemic pushed ASU golf coach to get master's degree

Sometime early in the summer of 2020 it hit Arizona State men’s golf head coach Matt Thurmond: The Sun Devils’ fall season likely would be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a thought that became a reality that August. Maybe, Thurmond told himself, he should take the time to pursue his master’s degree, something he had been thinking about for years. This May, he graduates with his Master of Applied Leadership and Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

From planning events to doing the mascot’s laundry, Coyotes intern’s experience is all coming out in the wash

The names Suns, Cardinals and Diamondbacks were initially on Payton Padilla’s mind while he searched an athletics industry website for an internship to expand his knowledge of how sports are managed. When he came upon one called “PUCK internship,” he immediately realized he had forgotten the Valley’s fourth big-league organization, the Arizona Coyotes hockey team.
