Arizona State University’s charter is only 46 words long, but it’s a bold promise that’s a model for the reinvention of higher education. It marks its 10th anniversary this month.

Galina Mihaleva, associate professor at ASU FIDM, is committed to making the fashion industry more sustainable. She recently won the WOW Designer Development Award at a competition in New Zealand for her creation “Evolutionary Drone Hybrid," which was inspired by the idea of an ailing Earth.

ASU’s inaugural basketball season as a member of the Big 12 is ready to tip off, with the women’s team opening play tonight against Jacksonville State and the men’s team starting their season Tuesday night against Idaho State. Besides a new conference, strong incoming recruits and some new opponents on the court, ASU is enhancing the game-day experience inside Desert Financial Arena.
