ASU has been recognized as a top school for free speech by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression and College Pulse in their latest College Free Speech Rankings.

Alfredo Gutierrez helped to establish the Hispanic Convocation at ASU and even received an honorary doctorate from the university. And in May, the 78-year-old Gutierrez finally graduated with his degree, a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts.



A $50,000-plus scholarship that can set a student on the path to a successful future in public service was awarded to two Arizona State University students this fall.
