Alfredo Gutierrez helped to establish the Hispanic Convocation at ASU and even received an honorary doctorate from the university. And in May, the 78-year-old Gutierrez finally graduated with his degree, a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts.
A $50,000-plus scholarship that can set a student on the path to a successful future in public service was awarded to two Arizona State University students this fall.
