Nakai named Arizona Tribal Policy Advisor


Katosha Nakai, a graduate of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law Class of 2003, recently was appointed by Arizona Governor Jan Brewer as Policy Advisor on Tribal Affairs.

Nakai, who filled the position on March 11, acts as liaison between Arizona's 22 tribal governments, other tribal interests and the governor.

Prior to taking office, Nakai specialized in tribal affairs with Lewis and Roca LLP in Phoenix, focusing on government regulation, infrastructure and resource development. She also has represented non-profit interests, corporations and small businesses, has knowledge of matters relating to environmental law, such as water, mining and natural resources, and is experienced in gaming issues.
