Last call for Professor of the Year nominations

The ASU Parents Association seeks nominations now through Feb. 26 for its annual faculty recognition program, Professor of the Year. Since 1994, this award has honored tenured faculty who best exemplify a passion for teaching – especially undergraduate teaching – and excel in their area of creative activity. Five nominees will receive special recognition awards of $1,000, and the nominee who becomes the 2010 Professor of the Year will receive:

•        $10,000 cash award

•        $10,000 to fund an undergraduate assistant ($5,000 for two
          years)

•        Lifelong designation as ASU Parents Association Professor

•        Fellowship in the ASU Distinguished Teaching Academy

All current ASU faculty, staff and students are eligible to nominate. The ASU Parents Association Professor of the Year will be announced at the Celebration of Teaching and Learning Excellence ceremony on April 21, 2010, to which all nominators and nominees are invited. Last year, 39 nominees from across all four campuses were honored and the Parents Association is hoping for even more this year. The nomination form, eligibility and selection criteria can be accessed at www.asu.edu/PTY. Contact Robin Okun Hengl at robin.hengl@asu.edu with questions.
