Gartner's paper reviewed by American University law professor


A paper by David Gartner, Associate Professor of Law at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, entitled, “Beyond the Monopoly of States: Civil Society and the Governance of International Institutions,” was reviewed on the blog Opinio Juris by Kenneth Anderson, a law professor at Washington College of Law, American University.

Anderson called Gartner’s article an excellent paper on global civil society and international organization’s legitimacy.

Gartner teaches constitutional law, international institutions, foreign relations law and global health law and policy. His current research focuses on the role of innovative international institutions and non-state actors in shaping international law and the response to global challenges in areas such as global health, development, education and the environment.
