Devils’ Workshop returns, features staff creativity


<p>The Devils’ Workshop Summer Showcase 2008, which features the artistic endeavors of ASU staff, will take place July 8-Aug. 8, with performances and artist talks on 10 lunch hours so far scheduled.<br /><br />All events are from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. The schedule includes:<br /><br />July 9 – Gary Quamme performs on the Fabulous Fritts, Organ Hall in the Music Building.<br />July 10 – Lacemaking demonstration by Jean Doig, Piper Writers House.<br />July 15 – Photography demonstration by Crys Gakopoulos, Piper Writers House.<br />July 16 – Dramatic reading by Tenisha Baca and Native American flute music by David Webb, Organ Hall.<br />July 17 – Photography demonstration by Richard Henne, Piper Writers House.<br /><strong>NEW!</strong> July 18 – Talk on Native American flutes by David Webb, Piper Writers House.<br />July 22 – Pounded flower art demonstration by Nancy Lesko, Piper Writers House.<br />July 23 – Vocal concert by Kristen LaRue, accompanied by Marcia Henley; piano and organ music by William Swayze; piano-organ duet by Carol Webber and Linda Bennett, Organ Hall.<br /><strong>NEW!</strong> July 24 – Photography demonstration by Erica Velasco, Piper Writers House.<br />July 25 – Greeting card demonstration by Karen Lamb, Piper Writers house.<br /><strong>NEW!</strong> July 29 – Ceramics demonstration by Cynthia Milberger, Piper Writers House.<br />July 30 – Organ music by Kevin Snow, vocal music by Bonita Power and Rob Spindler.<br />July 31 – Fair Isle knitting demonstration by Jeanne Davidson.<br /><strong>NEW!</strong> Aug. 7 – “Why Writers Need a Group,” Raye Thomas, Ann Bergin, Pat Hays, plus reading, Piper Writers House.</p><separator></separator><p>Everyone who attends these events will be entered into a prize drawing.</p><separator></separator><p>For more information, or to sign up to give an artist’s talk, contact Judith Smith, (480) 965-4821, or <a href="mailto:jps@asu.edu">jps@asu.edu</a>.</p&gt;
