Women's tennis takes down UC Davis

Day two of match play for the Arizona State women's tennis team proved to be successful as they defeated UC Davis (5-2). The match got off to a great start with all three doubles teams sweeping UC Davis.

In singles action, Kelcy McKenna deafeated Desiree Stone (6-3, 6-0) at the number one position. Hannah James came off the court next with a win over Herzyl Legaspi at number three.

The other four singles players battled it out, going to three sets before Arizona State clinched the match. Sianna Simmons, playing in the sixth spot, defeated Ellie Edles after falling 6-7 in the first set. Ashlee Brown had to retire from her match after spliting the first and second set, due to an injury. Amanda Martin lost a hard fought battle to Sidney Brady (3-6, 6-1, 6-3) in the sixth position. Nadia Abdala ended to dual with a win over dahrd Zamudio (4-6, 7-5, 6-4) at No. 2. The Sun Devils head to Georgia next weekend to take on the Georgia Tech for a spot in the National Indoor Championships.
