Volleyball falls to #8 Washington


<p>SEATTLE, Wash. - Sarah Reaves&#39; 16 kills and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/mtt/donahue_sydney00.html"… Donahue&#39;s</a> 25 digs weren&#39;t enough to pull off an upset Thursday night as the Sun Devil Volleyball squad fell in a straight sweep, 31-29, 30-24 and 30-27 to the #8 Washington Huskies. The Sun Devils are now an even 9-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play while the Huskies remain undefeated at 15-0 overall and 4-0 in the Pac-10.</p><separator></separator><p>&nbsp;</p><separator></separator><p>Game one saw the Sun Devils keep up with the Huskies with 11 tie scores and eight lead changes to show for it. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/mtt/reaves_sarah00.html">S… Reaves</a> had five kills to lead ASU, but it wasn&#39;t enough as Becky Perry had four to lead Washington and barely edge the Sun Devils 31-29. Game two saw the powerful Huskies come out swinging with a .289 attack percentage and Stevie Mussie leading the effort with her six kills to lead UW to a 30-24 win.</p><separator></separator><p>&nbsp;</p><separator></separator><p>The Sun Devils rallied back in the third game with a .250 attack percentage while tying the score ten times with the Huskies, but UW&#39;s Stevie Mussie team-leading nine kills lead the Huskies to a scant 30-27 score over ASU to finish the match.</p><separator></separator><p>&nbsp;</p><separator></separator><p>Next up the Sun Devils will travel to Pullman, Washington where they will face-off with another Pac-10 foe, the Washington State Cougars tomorrow night. The game starts at 7 p.m. PT.</p>
