Farr-Kaye to compete in U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur
Associate head coach and former Sun Devil stand-out Missy Farr-Kaye will compete in the 2007 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur, Sept. 29-Oct. 4. Farr-Kaye shot a 78 to qualify for the U.S. Women's Mid Amateur, finishing first in her qualifying group.
The tournament will be held at the par-73, 6,209-yard Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree, Ariz., the same course on which Farr-Kaye won her qualifying round.
Also competing with Farr-Kaye is former Sun Devil and honorable mention All-American Thuhashini Selvaratnam. Selvaratnam, a member of three ASU national championship teams, was the 2006 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur runner-up.
The U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur consists of two days of stroke-play after which the field will be narrowed down to the 64 lowest scores. The 64 players who made the cut will then compete in match-play for the tournament championship.
The tournament is open to any female amateur players who are over the age of 25 by the Sept. 29th start date.
