ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business ranks top 3 in 4 disciplines in online MBA list

For the first time since launching its prestigious Online MBA Programs rankings, U.S. News & World Report has also named the top schools in four key business disciplines, and the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University is ranked top 3 in each.

In the peer-reviewed rankings released today, the W. P. Carey School was No. 1 in both general management and marketing, No. 2 in business analytics and No. 3 in finance. W. P. Carey also ranks No. 10 among all online MBA programs — the eighth straight year the program has made the top 10.

“We’re very proud to be ranked top 3 across the board in academic disciplines,” said Amy Hillman, dean and Charles J. Robel Dean’s Chair of the W. P. Carey School of Business. “That speaks so highly of our departments and the faculty who bring their expertise and passion to the online courses. We have a long history with online education — first offering our online MBA more than 15 years ago — and it’s always gratifying to see the hard work of so many faculty, staff and students receive national recognition.”

The quality of the school’s online MBA has also been recently acknowledged by the Princeton Review and Financial Times, ranking it No. 10 in the U.S. and No. 9 in the world, respectively.

The new academic specialty rankings are determined exclusively by peer assessment. To be eligible, a school must be ranked among the best online MBA programs overall, and must receive at least five ratings from peer institutions.

“The fact that other business schools think so highly of our academics speaks volumes about the quality of the W. P. Carey online MBA,” Hillman added.

Each year, U.S. News also lists non-MBA programs in its Online Graduate Business Programs ranking. Once again this year, W. P. Carey ranked No. 6 in the nation. Additionally, the school was ranked No. 3 for veterans seeking online graduate business programs and No. 6 for veterans seeking online MBA programs specifically.

With the new academic discipline listings, the W. P. Carey School of Business now ranks top 30 in U.S. News & World Report for 25 distinct undergraduate and graduate programs and fields of study.
