Crumbling roadways, aging pipes, limited access to high-speed internet: these are some of the infrastructural deficiencies facing the U.S., which scored a "C-minus" for infrastructure in the American Society of Civil Engineers’ 2021 report card. In a new book titled “The Rightful Place of Science: Infrastructure in the Anthropocene,” two of ASU’s leading scholars of sustainable engineering address the urgency of modernizing our infrastructure to meet future needs.
