Women's tennis looks to continue its winning ways at Pac-10 Championships

The 14th-ranked Arizona State women's tennis team (16-6) head to Ojai, Calif. to compete in the 2011 Pac-10 women's tennis Championships, where the conference crowns both a singles and doubles champion. The championship will be held from April 28-May 1 at the Ojai Valley Tennis Club.

The Sun Devils finished in fourth place in the conference standings with a 5-3 league record. Notable ASU victories include sweeping USC for the season and a victory at Senior Kelcy McKenna received the No. 3 overall seed in the tournament this year, with USC's Maria Sanchez receiving the overall No. 1 seed.  McKenna upset Sanchez, then the No. 1-ranked player in the nation in a 6-1 thrashing of the Trojans in Tempe. The senior concluded the regular season 26-7, including three straight victories.

The doubles team of McKenna and Micaela Hein received the No. 4 overall seed, going 10-5 this season in dual competition. The doubles pair is ranked 24th in the nation overall.
