West campus Earth Week features activities and dialogue


<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">Arizona</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial"> State University</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">’s West campus will be the site of Earth Week Festival 2007, </span><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">April 17-21, complete with a variety of activities, dialogue and the 7<sup>th</sup> annual AZ StRUT (Arizona Students Recycling Used Technology) Computer Recycle Day.</span></p><separator></separator><p style="margin: 6pt 0in; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">The Earth Week Festival begins on April 17 with the Clean Cars Show scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. south of the Sands Building.<span>  </span>The display will feature alternative technology vehicles, including hybrid and hydrogen cars.<span>  </span>Speakers include Bonny Benson, assistant executive director at ASU’s Office of Sustainability.</span></p><separator></separator><p style="margin: 6pt 0in; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">On April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the SUN Devil Sustainability Festival will take place on the Fletcher Lawn, featuring food, music, children’s art, student clubs, and community organizations.<span>  </span>From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fletcher Lawn will be the site of Eating for Sustainability and will include dialogue on the impact of a meat-based diet.<span>  </span></span></p><separator></separator><p style="margin: 6pt 0in; line-height: 150%" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">Earth Week Festival 2007 closes with the 7<sup>th</sup> annual AZ StRUT Computer Recycle Day on April 21 from 8 a.m. to noon.<span>  </span>Sponsored by ASU’s West campus Recycling Services, the public is encouraged to drop off used or obsolete computer equipment, as well as other electronic equipment, to be recycled.<span>  </span>AZ StRUT will be collecting the equipment in Parking Lot 10 on the north side of the campus.</span></p><separator></separator><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Arial">“Earth Week is about connecting with ourselves, connecting with others, and connecting with the environment,” said Daena Reininger, Earth Week coordinator.<span>  </span>“At the same time, this festival gives us a chance to learn more about sustainability and what it takes to ensure a healthy future for our planet.”</span></p>
