The Arizona State women's soccer team closed out its road trip to Los Angeles with a 2-0 loss at No. 7 UCLA on Sunday.

UCLA (12-1-3, 4-1-2 Pac-12) scored goals in the 28th minute and the 35th minute to hand ASU its third consecutive loss.

"Today we played well for the first 20-25 minutes against a very good opponent," ASU head coach Kevin Boyd said following the match. "And then we stopped doing the things that we were doing and in the second half we didn't play well at all."

ASU (6-10, 2-6 Pac-12) got of to a good start as it took six of the first seven shots of the contest.

However UCLA would turn the tide in the 28th minute when sophomore midfielder Chelsea Stewart took a pass, maneuvered near the top of the box and fired a shot into the upper right corner of the goal to put the Bruins up 1-0.

Less than seven minutes later UCLA scored its second goal of the contest when Stewart found teammate Jenna Richardson open in front of the net. With her back to the goal, Richardson gathered in the pass, turned around to her left and sent a crossing shot out of the reach of Sun Devil goalkeeper Alyssa Gillmore and into the net for the goal.

Sophomore forward Devin Marshall led the Sun Devils with three shots while redshirt sophomore forward Miah Mollay had two shots. Gillmore had a season-high eight saves on Sunday.

ASU concludes the home portion of its schedule next week when it hosts No. 21 Washington State on Friday (7 p.m.) and Washington on Sunday (1 p.m.). Next Sunday's match will be the final at home for seniors Nicole Acosta, Sierra Cook, Courtney Giovanni, Kate Sangster and Kari Shane.
