Sims one of the “Dealmakers of the Year,” says ‘The American Lawyer’

Joe Sims, alumnus of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law's founding graduating class (1970) and a partner in Jones Day's Washington, D.C., offices, recently was selected as one of 25 "Dealmakers of the Year" by The American Lawyer magazine.

Sims and the other attorneys listed primarily had been selected as "dealmakers" for their work on public policy matters, bankruptcies, negotiating mergers and acquisitions, and for negotiating economic decisions with the federal government. American Lawyer selected Sims for his representation of the company that merged the XM and Sirius satellite radio companies.

Sims' practice with Jones Day has focused on mergers and acquisitions, antitrust and areas of law related to government regulation. Sims' experience includes issues involving technology, telecommunications and electronic media.
