Professor's research on ghostwriting highlighted

Scientific American magazine featured an in-depth look at recent research work by ASU School of Social Work assistant professor Jeffrey Lacasse on its web site on Feb. 4.

Lacasse's research examined ghostwriting policies at 50 top U.S. medical schools and found many had no policy in place to prevent "ghostwriting" practices in which pharmaceutical companies secretly author journal articles which are published under the byline of academic researchers.
