The skies were threatening and the breeze was strong as the Sun Devils hosted the Fighting Illini this past Saturday, August 8. But the only storm that took place was in the stadium, as ASU defeated Illinois 45-14.

The ASU Volleyball team traveled to Kansas to participate in the University of Kansas’ Jayhawk Invitational Sept. 7-8. The team lost to Wyoming 3-2 in the first match and while winning the first set against the host Jayhawks, eventually losing 3-1.

The Sun Devils will host its home opener starting Sept. 14 with the ASU Sheraton Invitational. ASU will play Villanova at noon, followed by UC Riverside at 8 p.m. On Sept. 15, the Devils face Florida Atlantic at 2:30 p.m., then an 8 p.m. showdown with Gonzaga will close out the tournament.
