The top 13 Engineering Projects in Community Service teams presented their projects at Project Presentation Palooza held on March 13 at Skysong. The teams also presented posters before the presentations began. A media production team from the School of Human Evolution and Social Change spent spring break on location at Teotihuacan, Mexico, producing video segments for future museum exhibitions, as well as panorama photography elements for online classroom courses. John Wellinghoff, chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, discussed how the federal government is working to help the Southwest develop its solar potential during a session of the 2012 Solar Summit at the Arizona Biltmore Resort.

In a presentation drawn from his forthcoming book, "From the Jaws of Victory: The Triumph and Tragedy of César Chávez and the United Farmworkers Union," Matthew Garcia explored the key philosophical differences among the leadership regarding the purpose of the union and the strategies it pursued towards the end of the 1970s during a history faculty forum, March 28. Garcia is professor of history and transborder studies, and director of Comparative Border Studies at ASU.

Katy Graves, a freshman journalism major from Tucson, Ariz., studies for her Sociology 101 class while enjoying fresh air on the terrace at Taylor Place, the residence hall for ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus.

Sparky, along with students and staff on the West campus, wore jeans as part of Denim Day, an international protest against sexual assault.

Work continues on the new dining, residence and recreation facilities at the West campus. The dorms and dining facility will be open in time for the fall 2012 semester and the recreation center is scheduled to open in January 2013.

The remodeling is finished, the fences are down and the Student Health Center held an open house to show off its new look.

ASU Health Services, the Photographers' Association and the School of Art in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, collaborated to bring wellness and the arts together to enhance the overall client/patient experience at the newly renovated ASU Health Services facility on the Tempe campus. An exhibition of works from the photographic art collection of the Northlight Gallery will be on display in the newly renovated Wellness Care Wing gallery.
