The Academic Bowl returned to the Memorial Union’s Pima Auditorium for its first two rounds of brain-racking questions, as student teams competed for glory and $24,000 in scholarship money.

Safaria Abugour, Kelcy McIntyre, Jenna McCuin and Marko Mazzucco represented the Nursing and Nutrition Colleges from the Downtown Phoenix campus.

Last year's winners, the Gold team from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, kept it fun as they warmed up prior to the finals of the 2011 ASU Academic Bowl.

The final rounds were held at the Eight, Arizona PBS studios, in Downtown Phoenix, as the finalists vied for $24,000 in scholarship funds.

Elizabeth Langland, vice provost and dean of the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, served as moderator.
