Newly renovated Manzanita Hall opens for fall semester
A look at Manzanita Hall from the bridge in 1970. The dorm was built in 1966. Recently the historic building was renovated for incoming students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Manzanita Hall was closed in May 2011 to begin renovations. The dorm reopened for students to move in for fall 2013.

A look at Manzanita Hall near the completion of its two-year-long renovation. Updates and changes include a fitness area, a recreation room, multipurpose rooms and a business center for some 800 residents. The project is in partnership with American Campus Communities, a private housing provider, which ASU has partnered with on numerous past projects – including Vista del Sol and the Hassayampa Academic Village.
Manzanita Hall reopened for fall 2013 move-in. The dorm is expected to house around 800 students.

During the renovation, the original floors were kept and refinished in the lobby.
Two of the building's four elevators were replaced with gurney-style lifts, the other two were rebuilt.
The ground floor now contains a business center, fitness center, an updated lobby and new social spaces.
New residential neighborhoods were created on every other floor.
The common areas feature a kitchen, laundry facility and a TV lounge area.
The basement of the newly renovated Manzanita Hall features a large common area, which includes arcade games, air hockey tables, ping pong tables, TVs, meeting rooms and study areas.
The basement also features several study areas and conference rooms.
A majority of the rooms in the newly renovated building are part of two-room suites that share a bathroom.
