Law prof comments on private-school tax breaks

Professor Paul Bender was quoted recently in an Associated Press story, “Supreme Court to review Arizona tax breaks for private school aid donations,” that appeared in The Washington Examiner.

The article, by reporter Paul Davenport, discusses the case that challenges Arizona’s tax breaks for donations for thousands of private school scholarships.

Bender, who is representing the challengers, was quoted as saying he “hopes the justices’ action doesn’t mean the Supreme Court intends to open the door for broad state funding of religious instruction.”
