Join 'Out of the Darkness' campus walk to prevent suicide

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students in the United States, claiming more than 36,500 lives each year. Help make suicide prevention a national priority – walk with thousands of students nationwide on March 23 to prevent suicide and save lives.

The walk will take place from 10 to 11 a.m., starting at Hayden Lawn on the Tempe campus. Registration is from 8 to 9:30 a.m.; there will be speakers from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

After the walk, from noon to 1 p.m., Daniel Schulte will provide a presentation on daily actions that we all can do to help prevent suicide. Participation is free. All walkers are encouraged to raise donations. Proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Register online for the walk at www.campuswalks.org and email wellness@asu.edu to attend the Daily Acts for Suicide Prevention Presentation. Lunch will be provided for presentation attendees from 11:30 a.m.-noon.
