Huge development on ASU property underway

August 01, 2013

Arizona State University President Michael Crow is excited about the university’s “new neighbors” – a massive new development in downtown Tempe, called Marina Heights, which broke ground on July 31.

An Arizona Republic article, titled “$600 million Tempe Town Lake project begins,” featured more information on the 2 million-square-foot, 20-acre, $600 million mixed-use development that will be located on university-owned land, adjacent to the ASU Athletic Facilities District. The bulk of the complex will be occupied by a State Farm insurance regional headquarters.

Crow is quoted in the article, saying, “The hope for us is that ASU can be of greater service to State Farm…[with] new people, new ideas and new engagement.”

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer shared this sentiment, saying that she "envisions that State Farm and other Marina Heights employers will draw from Arizona’s talent pool, especially ASU graduates.”
