Harden continues rise, will represent US at the Olympics

July 09, 2012

On July 7, USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo announced the roster for the 12-man Olympic team – a roster that includes includes Sun Devil James Harden, third-year Oklahoma City Thunder guard and the youngest pick for the team.

Says Arizona Republic sports columnist Doug Haller:

"James Harden never allowed [himself] to dream this far. The NBA, of course. But the Olympics? That's a tough one to imagine, simply because so much has to happen just to achieve consideration. Not only do you have to reach the NBA, you have to excel. Then you have to do so at the right time, playing your best during an Olympic year. And yet, Harden's going to London."
