Ellman gives presentation in Los Angeles

Professor Ira Ellman, affiliate professor of psychology, recently participated in a panel at the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts 50th Anniversary Conference in Los Angeles.

The conference was titled, “Riding the Wave of the Future: Global Voices, Expanding Choices.”

Ellman was part of a three-person panel that included Rob George, a fellow at University College, Oxford, and Rae Kaspiew, a senior research fellow at the Australian Institute of Family Studies. Together, they gave a presentation titled, “Presumptions in Family Law: Global Perspectives.”

Ira Ellman’s current scholarly projects include an empirical investigation into how people make judgments about appropriate legal rules, and he recently has been awarded a large grant from an English foundation to extend that work to the United Kingdom. He is an affiliate faculty member of the Center for Child and Youth Policy at the University of California at Berkeley.
