Downie: Obama's war on leaks undermines investigative journalism

Leonard Downie, Jr. has stated in a recent op-ed piece for The Washington Post that Barrack Obama is the most militant President towards the media since the Nixon administration, has disregarded the First Amendment and has intimidated a number of government sources of information that are vital to hold leaders accountable.

Says Downie, "The White House has tightened its control over officials’ contacts with the news media, and federal agencies have increasingly denied Freedom of Information Act requests on the grounds of national security or protection of internal deliberations."
