Creative writing director discusses effect of e-readers


The growing popularity of digital reading devices, such as Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes and Nobles’ Nook, are altering the way people read books, and forcing bookstores, publishers, and libraries to adapt to the new technology. 

Peter Turchi, director of creative writing and the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at ASU, recently shared his views with East Valley Living. 

Turchi stated, “there’s still going to be an audience for paper books for a long time, not just in the next year or two.” He also noted that, “there are a lot of creative opportunities that people are starting to play with.”
