Broadway legend heads to Gammage in career-spanning musical 'Dancer's Life'


<p>Two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera heads to ASU Gammage March 13-18 in a musical that celebrates her astonishing career as one of America &#39;s most beloved stage performers.</p><separator></separator><p>“The Dancer&#39;s Life” features Rivera and a cast of Broadway&#39;s most talented singers and dancers, offering audiences a rare look into that moment when great musical numbers in theater were born. “The Dancer&#39;s Life” is a magical tour through landmark creations in American theater that were led by some of the greatest talents in its history, including Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein, Bob Fosse, Gower Champion and Michael Kidd. Along the way, Rivera and company celebrate some of her most stunning and legendary Broadway performances – from “West Side Story” to “ Chicago ” to “Kiss Of The Spider Woman.”</p><separator></separator><p>At 17, Rivera accompanied a friend to an audition. Jerome Robbins took one look at her, cast her as a principal dancer, and the rest is history.
