Bender comments about Sotomayor


<p>Professor and Dean Emeritus <a href="http://www.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=23">Paul Bender</a> of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law recently was quoted by <i>The Arizona Republic</i> as saying U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's background as a New York prosecutor might make her more conservative on criminal-procedure questions than retired Justice David Souter.</p><separator></separator><p>&quot;You might disagree with her decisions, but there's no hint of her saying, `I'm going to do what I want to do and who cares what the law says and who cares what Congress says,'&quot; Bender told Republic reporter Dan Nowicki. &quot;She doesn't have any agenda, as far as I can tell.
