ASU updating Blackboard to version 9.1

ASU is updating Blackboard from version 9.0 to 9.1. This update will provide a more stable environment, faster response times and enhanced functionality for the summer sessions and Fall 2011 semester.

To accomplish this update, Blackboard will be unavailable from 12 a.m., May 20 until 8 a.m., May 23.

When Blackboard return to service, courses will look and function the same way it does now, but there will be several enhancements. Some of the noticeable changes include:

• New content types including “mashups” that allow streamlined inclusion of video, photos and slide shows
• New and updated social media tools – graded blogs, journals and wikis
• A more powerful grade center, giving you easier access and more control over how you grade and view data
• Centralized file management
• Several minor improvements throughout the interface

For questions related to a course, walk-in support will be available 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, in Computing Commons room 202 on the Tempe campus, beginning May 23rd until June 3rd.
