ASU sustainable construction achievements featured in annual review

August 01, 2013

The 2012 Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) "Higher Education Sustainability Review" features Arizona State University’s sustainable construction achievements.

The review contains a collection of higher education sustainability stories that were showcased in weekly electronic newsletters – AASHE Bulletins  – that were published throughout 2012.

The Arizona Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council recognized ASU in fall 2012 for its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accomplishments. ASU received two awards for the number of its LEED building certifications in Arizona:

• Highest LEED Achievement – Most Certifications in Arizona
• LEED New Construction – Most Gold Buildings

A PDF of the 2012 AASHE review includes a link to the ASU News write-up: ASU recognized for its dedication to sustainable construction on page 32, as well as an image of the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building IV, which received LEED Gold certification from the USGBC.
