ASU selected as NCAA Baseball Regional host


<p>Arizona State baseball has been selected as one of 16 regional host sites for the 2011 NCAA Baseball Championships, the NCAA announced. ASU will open play June 3 against New Mexico. Arkansas will take on Charlotte in the other game. The Tempe Regional is matched up with the Austin Regional, hosted by the University of Texas.</p><separator></separator><p>The four-team, double-elimination regional will be played at Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark on the ASU campus June 3 through June 6. The No. 1 seed Arizona State will play the No. 4 seed New Mexico and the No. 2 seed Arkansas will play the No. 3 seed&nbsp;Charlotte starting Friday.</p><separator></separator><p>Arkansas and Charlotte will begin play at 2 p.m., June 3 with ASU and New Mexico following at 7 p.m., Arizona time. Game times June 4 are also 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., with game times on June 5 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., Arizona time. If there is a game on June 6, it will begin at 6:30 p.m., Arizona time.</p><separator></separator><p>General Public All Session tickets will be available for purchase beginning Tuesday in person at the Sun Devil Ticket Office or over the phone at 480-727-0000.
