ASU seeks globally-minded volunteers to assist at commencement

<p>For the first time ever, ASU will have an international flag procession as part of the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony.</p><separator></separator><p>There will be 124 flags representing the nation of origin of all enrolled international students at ASU. The Center for Global Education Services (CGES) is looking for volunteers who would like to help carry flags onto the football field and remain there (seated in designated chairs) throughout the ceremony from 6–9:30 p.m., May 12.</p><separator></separator><p>ASU will provide a black robe and volunteers will 'march' out onto the field holding a flag at the beginning of graduation. Volunteers will then place the flag in a base/stand and stay seated next to it throughout the ceremony. At the end, volunteers will again march with the flag back off of the field and return the robe and flag in exchange for an ASU lapel pin.</p><separator></separator><p>This is a great way to be a part of ASU's largest annual celebration and represent ASU's efforts toward global engagement. Interested volunteers should sign up as soon as possible. For more information contact <a href="mailto:angela.n.mitchell@asu.edu">angela.n.mitchell@asu.edu</a>.</p&gt;
