ASU professor speaks on conquering hopelessness

July 08, 2020

In a recent article by Arizona Health and Living Magazine, ASU professor Rick Miller shares that even during a global pandemic, one can learn to become hopeful.

In the article, Miller notes three elements that comprise hope: goals, multiple pathways to achieve goals, and the motivation and energy to pursue one’s goals.

Miller is a professor of practice in ASU’s T. Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics, and clinical director at the Center for the Advanced Study and Practice of HOPE. He is also the founder of Kids at Hope and stands by his belief that we should create a culture where “all children experience success, no exceptions!”
