ASU gets hand-on with engineering curriculum

To provide students with a practical approach to aerospace engineering education, Arizona State University has modified its curriculum with a hands-on approach to learning, including employing The MathWorks tools for real-world problem-solving.

"... College administrators are still making little effort to link theoretical classes to real-world engineering problem solving, particularly in the initial semesters," writes Beth Stackpole of Design News. "Arizona State University appears to have taken that message to heart, as illustrated by some big changes to its aerospace engineering program, reflecting students' desire for hands-on training and independent discovery."
