Analyzing the State of the Union address

Original-text-analysis software created by ASU professor Kevin Dooley and Steve Corman is being used to identify the most influential words in President Bush’s State of the Union addresses. "Influential words are those that create meaning in the text by connecting ideas together, and they are used strategically by a speaker in order to structure a message in a particular way,” says Dooley.
