'51 Days Of Sun Devil Baseball' counts down to Legacy Dinner Feb. 9


Sun Devil Athletics is counting down 51 days of Arizona State Baseball Major League history, leading up to a dinner event, "Sun Devil Baseball Legacy: Celebrating ASU's 100+ Major Leaguers," at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel on Feb. 9.


In anticipation of the event, ASU Baseball's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages will post daily photos and bios of all 101 Sun Devils to play in the MLB. Two bios per day will be released, beginning on Dec. 20 and running through Feb. 7, before culminating in the final 101st bio on Feb. 8.


The event, which includes a silent action, reception and dinner, is hosted by the Arizona State University Alumni Association in partnership with the Sun Devil Club, Sun Devil Baseball, APS and azcentral sports. Beginning at 7 p.m., it will pay tribute to and celebrate the 101 Sun Devil Baseball players who have played, and are currently playing, in the Major Leagues.


Sun Devil fans are encouraged to connect with ASU Baseball on its social media platforms for a chance to learn about Sun Devil baseball's rich MLB past and its ever brightening future.

Tickets for the event cost $125 per person. ASU Alumni Association and Sun Devil Club members and Baseball season ticket holders receive special pricing of $100. Click here to register today.


The university's tradition of baseball excellence, as well as a preview of the 2013 season, will be celebrated with a full day of events on Feb. 9, 2013.


Activities will begin with the annual alumni baseball game at noon at the Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark, 201 S. Packard Drive, Tempe. Gates open at 11 a.m. for this free event. All ASU alumni and their family members are invited to enjoy watching Sun Devil baseball greats face off against each other. 


At 7 p.m., the association will host a dinner event, "Sun Devil Baseball Legacy: Celebrating ASU's 100+ Major Leaguers," at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel, 60 E. Fifth St., Tempe. A reception and silent auction will proceed the dinner.
