2012 Supplier Showcase set for Nov. 7

ASU faculty and staff are invited to attend the 2012 Supplier Showcase, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Nov. 7,  in the Arizona and Ventana ballrooms of the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus.

ASU-approved vendors who produce a variety of goods and commodities will be on display at the showcase to answer questions, provide information about their services and to hand out samples and other takeaway items.

"For years now, the Supplier Showcase has allowed the ASU community to meet their vendors face-to-face, and has given the suppliers a chance to demonstrate their exceptional products and services,” says Maureen King, ASU Materials Management manager. “This year's showcase will be an outstanding opportunity for information sharing and engagement.”

In keeping with the event’s “Greening Maroon and Gold” theme, ASU Stores has carefully planned this showcase to meet the GOLD level event standards, as awarded by the ASU Global Institute of Sustainability’s Green Events Program. Vendors have also been strongly encouraged to highlight their sustainable products at the showcase.

"This year's theme of ‘Greening Maroon and Gold’ is especially important, as many of the suppliers will be demonstrating their green products and services. We are particularly proud of the fact that we have made this an official Green Event and it can be held up as an example of sustainability to the campus community," says King.

More than 70 companies will have booths at the showcase, including Aramark, Artcraft Inc., Blackstone Security Services, Inc., Canon Business Solutions, Dell, Dircks Moving Services, MidFirst Bank, Staples Contract & Commercial Inc. and Target Commercial Interiors/Steelcase. From graphic designers and printers, to office furniture, travel, telecommunications and laboratory product vendors, the Supplier Showcase will feature products that meet the needs of the wide array of colleges and departments at ASU.

Door prizes will be awarded to lucky faculty and staff members who attend the showcase. Employees at the Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic and West campuses can conveniently reach the Memorial Union on the free intercampus shuttles. Tempe campus employees housed at the University Services Building can take the free FLASH McAllister from the shuttle stop on the west side of Rural Road at Spence Avenue to any stop along McAllister Avenue to make their way to the event.
