2010 Spring Commencement

It's that time of the year where commencement ceremonies and convocations mark a transition for more than 10,000 graduates – to go from ASU student to alum. Bercu overcame tremendous medical challenges while pursuing his Ph.D., defeating a serious bacterial illness eight years ago and liver cancer three years later. A liver transplant allowed him to complete his degree and he graduated with a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the Mary Lou Fulton Institute and Graduate School of Education.
