Sun Devils ready for fall 2022 graduation

More than 11K students to earn degrees, with nearly 6K via digital immersion

This fall, more than 11,000 students are set to graduate from Arizona State University on Dec. 12, with nearly 6,000These figures represent the number of students who have applied for graduation as of Dec. 1. The exact number of degrees may change up to two weeks after graduation. of those students earning degrees from academic programs offered in a digital modality.

Thunderbird School of Global Management Master of Arts candidate Esly Diaz is an example of one of those 6,000, who was able to earn a degree while working full time, while being a husband and father. 

“Regardless of how you started or what opportunities you have or don’t have, if you continue to pursue your dreams, work with excellence and do hard things, your dreams can come true,” Diaz said.

Other notable numbers this fall include:

  • Of those who applied to graduate, nearly 60% are international students.
  • Lifelong learners pursuing their master’s degrees saw the vast majority of growth this fall with a combined growth rate of 66% for digital and campus immersion.
  • More than 2,000 students will be obtaining engineering degrees, representing a 36% increase from fall 2021, helping to contribute to the New Economy Initiative and potentially adding to the future workforce of the 2022 CHIPS Act.
