ASU 365 Community Union features 'The Banker' for Movies on the Field

Movies on the Field is presented by ASU 365 Community Union, an initiative transforming Sun Devil Stadium into a community hub activated with events and free programs 365 days a year. Guests are invited to bring their blankets, family and friends to sit on the football field and enjoy "The Banker" under the stars on one of the biggest screens in Tempe. 

"The Banker," an Apple TV original film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie, tells the story of two Black businessmen risking everything they have to take on housing discrimination in the 1960s. The show will start at 7 p.m. and will feature a pre-recorded Q&A with the film's producer, Nnamdi Asomugha, and students from Hollywood Invades Tempe, ASU Film Spark's flagship entertainment industry development program. This event and future spring 2022 Movies on the Field will be complimentary and open to the ASU and local community.

The event is presented in partnership with Arizona State University's Center for the Study of Race and Democracy, the only entity at ASU and in the state of Arizona to position race and democracy in direct relation with each other. The center is known for its innovative programming on issues of race, democracy and the impact of systemic, institutional racism and undemocratic practices. 

Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. Stadium concessions will be available for purchase before and during the show. Masks, physically distancing from other parties and a negative COVID-19 test prior to the event are strongly recommended. ASU's clear bag policy will be in effect for this event.
