September 14, 2021

TEDxASUWest 2021 — returning to Arizona State University this month — seeks to explore the theme of regeneration across contexts: how it is possible to create something new out of what already exists, and the ways in which the transformative process of regeneration leads to vital renewal and restoration.

The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in La Sala Ballroom at ASU’s West campus. It will feature local voices and TED Talk videos.

Launched in 2009, TEDx is program of locally organized events that bring the community together to share a TED-like experience. Some of the best talks from TEDx events have gone on to be featured on TED.com and garnered millions of views from audiences across the globe.

This event is open to the public. Tickets are available for purchase at na.eventscloud.com/tedxasuwest2021.

Speakers at TEDxASUWest 2021 include:

  • Akua Duku Anokye, associate professor of Africana language, literature and culture.
  • Haunani Kane, Hawaiian voyager and climate scientist.
  • Jessica Potter, artist and conservation activist.
  • Kenro Kusumi, genome biologist.
  • Liza Hita, clinical associate professor of psychology.
  • Tony and Violet Duncan, Native artists.
  • Nicky Cristobal, graduate student, interdisciplinary studies.
