Two Golf Devils hope for repeat mark at Palmer Cup

The European team won the cup at Cherry Hills Country Club last year with former Sun Devil <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-golf/mtt/gross_stephan00.html">St… Gross</a> aiding in the victory.</p><separator></separator><p>The Palmer Cup stretches back to 1997. The series is tied 6-6-1. However, Europe has won the last two contests.</p><separator></separator><p>Last year at Colorado's Cherry Hills Country Club Gross continued the solid run of Sun Devils competing in the Palmer Cup. Gross won both his singles matches as Sun Devils are now 12-0 in head-to-head matches in the 13-match history of the event.</p><separator></separator><p><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-golf/mtt/canizares_alejandro00.ht… Canizares</a>, the 2003 NCAA champion and a four-time All-American, racked up 13 victories in his four years as a Palmer Cup player (2003-06), with an 8-0 mark in singles. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-golf/mtt/quinney_jeff00.html">Jeff Quinney</a>, the 2000 U.S. Amateur champion, also was 2-0 in singles when he competed in 2001.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
