October 17, 2007

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's redshirt freshman kicker Thomas Weber has been named a First Team Halfway All-America selection by CBSSportsline.com. This is the second mid-season All-American honor this year for Weber.

Weber (Downey, Calif.), who also earned Third Team Mid-Season All-American honors from Phil Steele, has set a school record for consecutive made field goals, connecting on all 14 he has attempted this season. He made the game-winner at Washington State on October 6 and was named the Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week twice in a row.

He also took over the full-time punting duties beginning with the Washington State game and is averaging 65.7 yards per kickoff, most in the Pac-10.
