Taylor Rohde now a Sun Devil

The Arizona State men's basketball program and Coach Herb Sendek have announced the signing 6-9 Arizona prep product Taylor Rohde in the fall signing period, which runs from Nov. 14-21.

Rohde, from nearby Pinnacle High School, averaged 22.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last year while shooting 56 percent from the floor. In his junior year, he averaged over 20 points and 10 boards.

"Having Taylor sign with Arizona State allows us to build momentum in the Phoenix area. On the court and off the court, he is a winner and plays very hard. His skills are very good and he has a chance to be a very good big man in the Pac-10 ."

Rohde earned first-team all-state honors from the Arizona Republic both in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. His 22.1 points per game mark in his junior year set the school record but he also led the team in charges taken with 19.

He participated in the Double Pump West Coast All-Star Camp and the Pangos All-American Camp this past summer.

Off the court, he has posted great numbers as well, performing more than 200 hours of community service and posting a 3.4 grade point average.

He already holds Pinnacle career records for free throws made (287), free throws attempted (426), rebounds (686), offensive rebounds (239), points (1,371) and blocks (139) as he has a chance to become first Pinnacle player with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. He also holds 11 season records.
