Sun Devils in first at Wildcat Invitational


The third-ranked Arizona State women's golf team is in first place after the first round of the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. ASU shot a 3-over 287 for the first round, one stroke ahead of second place teams Arizona, Oklahoma State, Duke and UCLA.

Individually, sophomore Juliana Murcia leads the Sun Devils after shooting a 1-under 70 to tie for third place. Murcia's score of 70 in the first round of the Wildcat Invitational ties her career-low round set at the Dick McGuire/Branch Law Firm Invitational in 2006. Junior All-American Jennifer Osborn is tied for ninth, shooting an even-par 71. Fellow junior All-American Azahara Munoz shot a 1-over 72 to tie for 14th after the first round. Sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist is tied for 30th after shooting a 3-over 74. Graduate Brooke Todare shot a 19-over 90 to sit in 92nd after the first round.

Playing as an individual, Camila Sola is tied for 79th, shooting an 11-over 82 in the first round. Also competing as an individual, Liisa Kelo shot a 15-over 86 to tie for 86th.

Duke's Amanda Blumenherst leads the competition at 3-under 68.
