Sun Devil track & field lends hand at Kids Rock Run

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State University track & field program gave back to the community Saturday morning (January 12) as members of the team helped out with several duties at the finish line for the Phoenix Children's Hospital Kis Rock, a one-mile fun run for children ages 6-12.<separator></separator>The Sun Devils that were on hand assisted at two locations. While several athletes assisted at the start line with getting the runners to line at the proper time, the majority of the team was on hand in the finsh line chute handing out snacks. Water, chocolate milk, granola bars, orange slices, chips and, the crowd favorite, popsicles were handed out to all finishers.<separator></separator>To see some of the happenings in the chute, click on the photo gallery link at the top of the page.<separator></separator>Participants had two ways to enter the run with the first being walking up to the start line and walking, jogging or running the one-mile course. Others participated in a training program that saw them accumulate 25.2 miles prior to the Kids Rock with the final mile giving them 26.2 miles total, or one full marathon.<separator></separator>
