Softball rallies back to top Purdue
<p>A stellar sixth and seventh inning performance from the Sun Devils capped a 6-4 comeback win over Purdue Sunday morning as the eight-ranked ASU softball team wrapped the Judi Garmen Classic. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/parlich_sam00.html">Sam Parlich</a> took the win with <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/bach_hillary00.html">H… Bach</a> collecting the save as ASU finishes week six with a 27-4 record.<br /><br /><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/elliott_megan00.html">… Elliott</a> took to the circle for the Sun Devils where her offense stepped up to give her a one-run cushion as <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/carlson_caylyn00.html"… Carlson</a> proved clutch yet again with a laser to the second baseman to bring home a run.<br /><br />The Sun Devils added two more to the score in the sixth inning as <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/carlson_caylyn00.html"… Carlson</a> led off with a single, which was followed up by doubles from <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/crabb_katie00.html">Ka… Crabb</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/haro_talor00.html">Tal… Haro</a>. Purdue boiled over in the bottom of the inning though as they rallied up for four runs off four hits and a costly fielding error as they snaked the lead 4-3 headed into the seventh. The inning saw <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/parlich_sam00.html">Sam Parlich</a> come in to relieve <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/elliott_megan00.html">… Elliott</a> and try to tame the attack, but the damage was done.<br /><br />But ASU showed they had no rupophobia in the seventh though as they got dirty with RBIs from <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/crabb_katie00.html">Ka… Crabb</a>, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/muenz_ashley00.html">A… Muenz</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/haro_talor00.html">Tal… Haro</a> to pull ahead 6-4 headed into the seventh inning finale. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/bach_hillary00.html">H… Bach</a> came in for relief of <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/parlich_sam00.html">Sam Parlich</a> for the last three outs, which came with two quick groundouts before Purdue knocked two singles to make it interesting.
